wake up bars - sugar, honey, bran flaskes and raisins

Wake-Up Bars

SERVINGS: 12 bars

PREP TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 ¼ cups natural nut butter
½ teaspoon cinnamon
6 cups bran-flakes cereal
¾ cup raisins

 
 
 

Directions:
1. In a large saucepan (or microwave), stir together brown sugar and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in nut butter, applesauce and cinnamon until smooth. If need to heat again do so to improve consistency. Stir in cereal and raisins until coated.
2. Pat mixture into prepared (with cooking spray) 9x9 pan, pressing firmly. Cover and chill until set or up to 24 hours.
3. Cut into 12 squares.
